Club Reopening – Important Changes

Dear Member,

Grayshott Social Club will reopen for business at midday on Saturday 4th July. As well as the ongoing Government guidance and laws that each of us must already comply with due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, there are many new regulations that we, as a business,  must comply with and these have resulted in many important changes to our usual business practices. The main points are highlighted below, the full rules can be found here – http://www.grayshottclub.co.uk/covid-19/ – on the clubwebsite and displayed on posters around the Club:

Do Not Attend The Club If You Have Symptoms Or Should Be Isolating
Do not attend the Club for any reason if you, or anyone you live with, should be self isolating or has any of the symptoms of Covid 19 which are:

  • a high temperature.
  • a new, continuous cough.
  • a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste.

New Opening Hours
Monday to Thursday – 3pm to 9pm (earliest closing – the bar staff may decide to stay open
until 10pm if the number of customers justifies it).
Friday and Saturday – 12 midday to 10pm.
Sunday – 12 midday to 9pm (earliest closing – the bar staff may stay open until 10pm if the number of customers justifies it).

Snooker Room and Pool Table Closed
Due to the risks of virus transmission the Snooker Room and Pool Table will remain closed until further notice.

Juke Box, Quiz Machine and Lottery Machine Turned Off
Due to the risks of virus transmission by using touch screens and lottery tickets these machines will be turned off until further notice.

All Children and Dogs Must Be Under Close Control
Dogs must be kept on a tight lead at all times, away from other customers, other dogs and staff and off the furniture. Children must remain close to their parents at all times.

To reduce the risk of virus transmission to our staff please do not use cash unless you have absolutely no alternative.

Vaping Banned in the Club, Vaping and Smoking Banned Near Doors
Vaping is now banned inside the Club, Vaping and Smoking are banned near external doors – which must be kept open to reduce the risk of virus transmission on door handles.

Social Distancing Rules
You must stay 2m away from others if possible and a minimum of 1m+with risk mitigation, unless permitted by Government Rules (e.g. your close family, household etc). There is no reason, or justification, for reducing the 2m distancing in public areas of the club other than in the toilets where 2m distancing is not always possible. You must adhere to the signs and markings in the Club provided to maintain social distancing. Please do not move any club furniture, it has been laid out in accordance with Social Distancing rules and must remain where it is.

Function Room Bookings
To allow for Social Distancing throughout the Club, we will not be accepting bookings for use of the Function Room until restrictions are lifted.

Finally – Enforcement of Rules
These rules have been compiled by the Government after wide consultation and we have been told that we must comply with them to remain open – we can expect to be checked upon by the Local Authority and Police to ensure that we are. For this reason you will be advised or warned if you are not complying with the rules and excluded immediately if you still fail to comply, our Staff or Committee will not engage in arguments and the Police will be called if you refuse to leave. Any exclusion is likely to last at least until all restrictions are lifted.

We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding in keeping to the rules so that we can remain open and life can return to normal as soon as possible.

Regards

1st July 2020

We’re reopening on the 4th July – with Premiership Football and new lagers.

Dear Member

We hope you are safe and well and haven’t suffered too badly during the lockdown. We are pleased to announce that we will be open from midday on Saturday 4th July. As you will appreciate our reopening is subject to many rules and regulations which will have to be complied with to ensure that our staff and members and their guests stay safe. There will have to be many changes to our usual working practices until things get back to normal, the Committee and Staff are working on these measures and full details will be provided in the coming week.
We have been working with our suppliers to ensure we have a full range of beers and lagers available, in addition we should have three new offerings for the reopening – Amstel, Moretti and Heineken Export – more details of this will follow.

Saturday 4th July will also feature the return of a full day of televised football to our screens:

12:30 – Norwich v Brighton
15:00 – Man Utd v Bournemouth
17:30 – Wolves v Arsenal
20:00 – Chelsea v Watford

There will be many other games in the following days and weeks as the Premier League catches up with postponed fixtures, hopefully rugby will return to our screens in the near future as well.

Stay safe and we’re looking forward to seeing you soon.

Regards

Grayshott Social Club AGM

Dear member,
Under s. 8(1) of our rules the Grayshott Social Club Annual General Meeting must be held by the 30th April each year but, due to the announcement that the current ‘lockdown’ has been extended until at least the 7th May 2020, the AGM has been postponed until further notice. A new date will be fixed once the current restrictions are lifted and it is safe to proceed.

The normal rules with regard to publishing of the accounts, elections to Committee and lodging of agenda items will be followed in advance of the revised date. The sitting Committee will continue in post until the AGM.

Regards and stay safe, I’ll see you at the reopening party,

Andy Smith
