Another great night to tick off for Grayshott Jazz Club! 64 people were treated to an unforgettable night with Alan Barnes, saxophonist, ably supported by Robin Aspland piano, Matt Home drums, and Andy Cleyndert on bass. The quartet swung their way through the Great American Songbook and Bossa Nova numbers with fine-tuned accuracy. Melody is so important to Alan and this was demonstrated as they signed off the evening with Cole Porter’s “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To”. Baritone, Alto, Clarinet with impeccable sidemen this was British Jazz at it’s best!
This Saturday (26th) there is an Open Day at the Club and I will be presenting some Jazz between 2 and 5 in the afternoon. If you can’t make it I’ll see you all at the Jazz Club next Tuesday 29th 8 – 10.30pm where we have some new old faces for your entertainment.
