Jazz Newsletter June 2020

Hello Folks

It should have been a swinging time at the Jazz Club last night with star clarinettist Ron Drake in attendance but, once again, the Covid Curse intervened, and it was left to our imagination as to what it would have been.

On a positive note, however, The Grayshott Social Club opens it’s doors once again on the 4th of July with obvious restrictions.  Unfortunately for us no functions are to be held for the foreseeable future.

When this changes, and if the one metre rule still applies, it would mean that we could get a band on the stage – so that’s a start.  We shall have to see if we could  accommodate an audience complying with the guidelines.  Anyway that’s something to look forward to.

Trawling the Temperance Seven website www.thetemperanceseven.co.uk I came across a Granada Television clip. It’s the Vintage Syncopators with the Colonel, Private Willy, and Rt. Hon. John Tucker before they joined the Temps.

I think you’ll like it.
Dates for the diary — I wish!
Keep jazzing Mike
