Grayshott Social Club have now received reliable information that our member referred to in our previous post has received a negative Covid test result and we have not been contacted by the NHS Test and Trace team. As a result the Club will remain closed today for cleaning and will reopen tomorrow (Tuesday 4th August) at 3pm. The Club will be showing the Championship Play Off Final between Brentford and Fulham tomorrow evening at 7.45pm.

The Club has been informed that one of our members has tested positive for Covid-19 after attending the Club yesterday afternoon (Saturday 1st August), as a precaution the Club has been closed for 72 hours to allow for a full deep clean and for our staff to be tested. We will re-open on Wednesday 5th August at 3pm as usual.
The NHS Test and Trace staff will be in contact with anyone who has had close contact with our member and you should follow their instructions if contacted. As you will appreciate the Club are not able to identify the member involved.

Yet another month passes and we don’t seem any nearer to getting back to the “old” normal. I still harbour hopes that something will evolve with a reduced audience in the not too distant future.
Meanwhile, here is something from The Temperance Seven archives sent to me by John Gieves Watson, the banjoist with the band in the early sixties. You will remember John as the man behind that huge bodied banjo. This is a gem about the eccentric Joey Clark, the diminutive gas pipe clarinet player. I hope you will all find this entertaining and we look forward to seeing you in the future
